From Research to Reality: UNWARE Welcomes VR Experts from the Leibniz Supercomputing Centre
In the early days of UNWARE, we had the privilege of visiting the Leibniz Supercomputing Centre in Garching to explore their cutting-edge VR CAVE. Now, we had the pleasure of hosting their experts in Ingolstadt to showcase our own wearable-free VR innovation.
In the early phase of building UNWARE, we had the opportunity to visit Daniel Kolb and his team at the Leibniz-Rechenzentrum (LRZ) in Garching, near Munich. The LRZ operates one of Europe’s most advanced VR CAVEs, primarily used for research in areas like simulation, scientific visualization, and human-computer interaction.
Our visit provided invaluable insights into the possibilities and challenges of large-scale VR installations. Experiencing the state-of-the-art technology at LRZ and hearing about their ongoing research efforts helped us refine our vision for the UNWARE Holodeck, our wearable-free, portable VR solution.
Fast forward to yesterday: We had the pleasure of welcoming Daniel Kolb, Thomas Odaker, Elisabeth Mayer, and Rainer Oesmann to Ingolstadt, where they got to experience the UNWARE Holodeck firsthand. Seeing experts from a leading research institute interact with our product was a significant milestone for us. Their feedback and questions sparked valuable discussions and will help guide our further development.
What stood out during this exchange was the shared excitement about making VR more accessible and collaborative – not just in research, but in real-world business applications.
We are deeply grateful to Daniel and his team for taking the time to visit us and for their constructive input. Their expertise will be an important resource as we continue our journey to revolutionize VR with our wearable-free, latency-free Holodeck technology.
We look forward to future exchanges and collaborations with the LRZ team and other innovators in the field. Together, we can push the boundaries of what VR can achieve – beyond research labs and into everyday business scenarios.
Thank you again for your time and insights!
